DIY Halloween Cookies

I love sweets and I love baking. So when i found a super easy sugar cookie recipe i just had to make some Halloween inspired goodies with it.

The recipe I used is a recipe posted by Jill Saunders on the site

These cookies would be perfect to gift to your friends and family. Oh and they are mail service friendly! Which means you can send them to friends and family who you may not be able to see, without them crumbling in the post.

To make these little goodies you will need:

  • 625g (5 cups) of Plain Flour
  • 400g (2 cups) of Sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 stick of Butter
  • 1 tbs of Baking Powder
  • 1 tbs of Vanilla Extract or extract of your choice (strawberry extract works well)
  • a pinch of salt

  • 300g (1 1/2 cups) Icing sugar
  • 2 tbs Milk
  • Food coloring
  • Extract of choice (optional)

Cream together your butter and sugar until smooth. Next you want to beat in your eggs and extract. Once combined stir in the rest of your dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt).

Once the mixture forms a dough tightly cover and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat your oven to 200 degrees and grease and line your baking pan.

Roll out your dough with a rolling pin and cut out your dough using circle and teddy cookie cutters.

Bake the cookies for 8 minutes or until golden around the edges.  Set aside to cool.

To make the icing just mix together your icing sugar and your milk until smooth. Now you can add your food coloring and extract.

And now for the best part…. Time to decorate! You can decorate the cookies any way you want to! I choose to create some pumpkins, some spooky themed teddies and of course some emojis.

A tip when decorating is to do it in layers and allow the icing to dry between each layer.

And that’s it some delicious cookies perfect for family and friends.

See ya next time Remi xox
